Buy Olympus Camera – Tips
I learned everything that my brother knew about digital photography. After our father gave him a Canon F series 35 mm camera, he began to enjoy it. Including the L series lenses, his digital camera, a 20D SL with a 420EX flash, is priced at thousands of dollars. I got the best deal by previously buying the E500 dual lens kit, only paying a fraction of what it cost him.
When photos come out poorly, most of the time the fault lies with the person taking the pictures, and not the with the camera. In 98 out of 100 cases that’s the situation. Although my digital SLR is excellent, one of my friends uses an older model from 2001 – an S230 from Canon – and his pictures look much better than mine.
My brother has a 20D model which I tested, and I also tested my E500, and I found that the focus on my camera is slower, but it seems like this problem can be solved by upgrading the firmware. After we held the cameras in our hands, we found that the 20D model didn’t feel as light as the E500.
The LCD controls was one of the things that I loved, because it could control everything including the speed of the flash, the exposure, the ISO and anything else that you would like to be changed. My brother observed that he missed the feature that he used to have – the Canon’s small LCD screen on top of his camera. A minimal amount of post processing was necessary because the photos were such good quality. The look of the pictures was superior to the 20D model, once the vivid settings were adjusted. Regardless of the cost, it was certainly worth it to buy this model
I am quite happy with the great photos my camera takes, even though it’s been a few months since my purchase. Currently, I use the camera regularly, and for others who need a recommendation, I suggest the Olympus SLR camera. At this point, three people have purchased it after hearing my recommendation, and they are quite happy with it.
Comparing the amount of money that I have spent on my camera and my brother has spent on his, I have only invested $700 in my own camera, while my brother has spent about $4,000 on his camera. He most recently purchased a wide angle L lens and a 580EX flash for his camera. One of the best things is that he can take a burst of photos – 3 to 4 – and use the flash for all of them.
The abbreviation PP means Post Processing (with image applications such as Photoshop), and PQ stands for Picture Quality.
Buy Olympus Camera FAQ
Question: Olympus Camera broken, bought at best buy last april, no receipt. How to get it fixed?
I purchased an Olympus FE-230 last april at Best Buy. It supposdly has a 1 year Manafactuar warranty, but I don’t have the receipt anymore. How can I get it fixed??
Answer: Contact Olympus Immediately!
Tell them your situation. Be aware that that model was announced on January 25 2007 so it’s unlikely that you could have bought it as early as 2/13/07 so although theoretically you could be outside of the warranty period they may make you an exception and fix it. Also, you may want to check any past credit card receipts to verify see if it might be shown.

Question: If I want to buy a refurbished olympus waterproof camera off ebay, will it break if i take it underwater?
I want to know if it will be okay if I take it underwater, it’s waterproof, but it’s also refurbished I dont know if that means the previous owner broke something that protects the camera from the water breaking it
Answer: a refurb usually just means that something small happened in the manufacturing of it and that olympus fixed it up and is now selling it for cheaper. basically refub means that its fixed and you shouldnt have any problems.
with that said it depends on the camera to see how far you can go underwater. i know some can go 33ft where some can only go 10ft. so just check on that too.
Question: FE 220 olympus camera screen is cracked and broken do people buy broken cameras to refurbish?

Do you think it is a good deal to buy?
Answer: Olympus represented a quality name when it came to 35 mm film cameras, but like kodak…in the digital world they did not know how to compete against Nikon or Canon, nowadays in my personal opinion those are the best ways to go, although there is always sony….a big brand name of course.
It seems to me it’s a great deal but for about 30 more bucks you could get a nice Nikon camera as well…it’s a matter of searching (ebay, perhaps)……I personally own a Canon Rebel camera and a small nikon camara to take everywhere.
