Buy Camera Bag – Tips For Finding The Right Bag

So, maybe you have just invested a lot of time in choosing just the right film or digital camera to purchase. You really don’t want to have to make another decision about which camera bag would be best.

Still, a camera bag is probably the next most important thing to purchase now that you have your new camera. Why is that? You just spent a lot of time and money on a camera, so you definitely want to protect it, plus you will want to be able to carry it with you conveniently. The camera bag that you settle on should assist you in organizing your camera and any accessories while allowing you to access them conveniently.

Camera bags come in many shapes, colors, sizes, designs and materials and perform many functions. What kind of camera bag should you select? You can get a camera bag that fits over one shoulder with a strap, or a backpack type which is better for heavier photo equipment and traveling. Some camera bags can attach to your belt or can be worn like a fanny-pack. Perhaps you would want to consider a camera bag with a hard case, which would be durable and maybe even waterproof.

A camera bag should make it easier to carry your camera; it should not make it more difficult. You want a camera bag that has comfortable, wide and padded straps that is a perfect fit for your camera. If you have just begun taking photos, a basic camera bag that is just big enough to hold your camera may suffice. However, if you have several lenses or other camera accessories, you will certainly want a larger camera bag. Your camera bag should at least be large enough to hold the accessories that you use most frequently.

If you plan to carry more than one camera in your camera bag, you should have dividers in it. Heck, even if  all you do carry is just a camera, it’s nice have the ability to store your wallet or a drink and snack in your camera bag so you don’t have to carry around another bag just for those things.

Be sure that the camera bag that you select has closures that prevent rain from getting in. Double-sided zippers, which allow easy access, are also desirable.

You may not think that the color of your camera bag is important, but actually it may be wise to go with a lighter color to help protect your camera from the heat on sunny days. A camera bag that is neither dark nor too light — something in the middle — will also hide dirt pretty well.

Now that you know what to look for in the perfect camera bag, you can start looking for just the right one to suit your needs!

Question: Is there any site where i am likely able to buy a camera bag to fit a kodak z740 digital camera?

Answer: I suggest visiting your area WalMart, K-Mart, Best Buy, or other retailer that has a camera department. I bought several good bags for my digital cameras at those places, including name brands like “Targus” and some very nice “no-name” bags too. They all held up good to hard travel, including the “no-name” ones that looked well made.

Just bring your camera and accessories into the store, and check out what off-the-shelf bags work best. The clerks in all the stores seemed “cool” with me doing this…

You can always go online too, at the above stores, to narrow your choices and order the stuff online…

Question: Do you know where i can buy a camera bag that does’nt scream camera inside?

Answer: I’m not sure what country you live in, but I know of a brand that make some pretty special products that fit the bill. Crumpler initially made courier bags, and have branched out to other styles of carry bags.

Most of their shoulder bags are in bright colours, or in the general style of courier bags, but have dedicated dividers and compartments for camera gear. Their backpacks generally look like a fashionable backpack, and definitely don’t scream ‘cameras!’ like the average lowepro or tamrac bag.

Go to www.crumpler.com, and if you need to, select the globe icon to change to the appropriate country.

Question: What type of camera bag should I buy for a Grand Canyon trip? Also should I purchase a generic lens?
I have a Nikon D50, 28-80 lens, SB-600 flash and a Sony Handicam. I plan on purchasing a wide angle lens before the trip. I may only take my wide angle lens and leave the 28-80 at home. I like the backpack bags, but I will also have a regular backpack. (We are hiking all the way down and camping out). What things should I consider when shopping for a camera bag?

Also should I purchase a Quantaray, Tamron, Sigma or Nikon wide angle lens? I’m not sure if I’ll have the money to buy the name brands. What’s the quality difference in the Quantaray?

Answer: I use a generic backpack that does not say, “Steal me, I have cameras inside”

Any AF Nikon lens will work on your camera. Here is a link to help you decide which wide angle lens to buy for your trip. Each time I go to the Grand Canyon, I shoot exclusively with my Nikon 12-24mm … at times I wish I had the 10.5mm to “get it all” If you can afford a Nikon 12-24mm then by all means buy it. If not, then look at this link.

Answer: The A/V and USB cables should have come with the camera. Camera bags and tripods are found, you guessed it, at a camera store. Headsets can be found at any electronics store. If you can’t find the A/V and USB cords, they too are found in electronics stores, but take your camera because there are different configurations of both

Question: I recently bought a samsonite camera bag at walmart for 3.88 and dont know how to use it.?
It has a neck strap and i do not know how to use it exactly someone tell me how to use it. i will post a picture of this

Answer: Try putting the strap over your head and then bringing your arm through it so the bag is by your side. Pull it to the front a little so your arm doesn’t hit the bag. The strap will cross your chest.

Question: Purse into camera bag?
Is there anyway of turning your purse into a camera bag?
I don’t usually put much in my purse.
Could I add just alittle padding to it?
I don’t want to buy a camera bag and carry it around, along with my purse.
I’m not too worried about alot of room, just room for batteries and my camera.I have a canon s3. I usually like carrying my camera on a strap, but I’m going to San Francisco and don’t want it just out there. I’m afraid it’ll get stolen or something. I find it alittle inconvienent to place my camera inside a bag especially when you have to be quick for a “kodak moment”, but I’ve been thinking about doing it for safety reasons. Anyways, is this a good idea?

Answer: Absolutely! any kind of bag can be a camera bag, just make sure you keep the lens cap on your Canon S3, and also make sure that the back screen doesn’t get scratched, you could wrap it on some bubble wrap! it keeps it protected, and it’s easy to take off for that “kodak moment” And yes if people see you with a camera bag, then they will know there is a camera in it, and try to steal it, but a purses usually have a lot of trash like receipts, and candy wrappers, and credit cards, oh and some pennies, and of course girl accessories like makeup! no one really wants to steal that, so it works as a good disguise! good idea! ;)
